Bougainvilleas
Bougainvillea is a genus
of thorny ornamental vines, bushes, and trees with flower-like spring leaves
near its flowers. The actual flower of
the plant is small and generally white, but each cluster of three flowers is
surrounded by three or six bracts with the bright colors associated with the
plants, including pink, magenta, purple, red, orange, white or yellow. These bracts look to like they were
constructed out of kite paper.
This appears to be
blooming season as everywhere you go all over the island, you’re sure to get a
glimpse of the colorful bracts in bloom.
In this image, there is a tiny peek of the actual white flower on the top.
