Sundays, Church, Cooking,
Washing, Ironing and prepping for the work/school week. Sunday evenings in our former (Atlanta, GA)
life included football (soccer) scrimmage for my husband, and game night for me
and the kids, that is, if we did not tag along with him to the park. Sometimes the place was downright cold, and
that coldness didn’t make for park frolicking, at least not for this hot blooded
Caribbean woman, so I was only too happy to don my sweats and relax on my
couch. Well as all you mothers out there
know, that couch thing, aka relaxing, really doesn’t last long, we have to
provide entertainment for our kids, and if I left them to their own devices
they would stay on electronics all day.
So I brought out the old fashioned games, you know, like cards, uno,
dominoes, monopoly, snakes and ladders, scrabble, mindspace, checkers, Chinese checkers,
taboo etc., and on occasion we got moving with a few choice ‘kinect’ games for
the ‘Xbox 360’. Well reminiscent of
that, we decided that tonight we would once again have ‘game night’.
Now we can include
grandma, cousins, uncles, and extended family members, and guess who else is
home to play, yes you’re right, daddy!
Let the games begin!
